Counterfeit Son Characters

The main character of this book is Cameron Miller who has been brutally abused for his whole life by his father Hank Miller. He has killed more than 20 little boys that once were his friends from school. He hasn't been able to live his life like regular boys can, he doesn't know what it feels like to be loved. His father has abducted and killed  this boy named Neil Lacey six years ago. Neil's parents have been searching for him ever since then. Then one day 'Neil' comes home after he has been missing all this time. They truly believe that this is their son. Cameron is welcomed in their home hoping to be more safe and to live a happier life. He is starting to feel the stress of trying to be someone he is not, trying to like everything Neil likes and sitting where Neil sat at the dinner table before he left.
Cameron's weaknesses is when they mention his father Hank Miller and talk bad about him. He can't really react when he is mentioned because he is technically not his father and he has to keep it to himself so he doesn't blow his cover. Cameron also misses his real father when he is mentioned even though he did all that too him, strange enough he still loves him. He still would like his father to be alive, he would much rather his fathers friend to take his place.

If you knew someone who had committed a crime, would you still think of them the same? Would you still have the same feelings for them, or would you lose all respect?

  1. If i knew someone who had committed a crime i would talk to them first and ask them why they did it, depending on why they did it and if they said they would never do it again then i would probably give them another chance. I would not trust the person as much though depending on what crime the person had committed. The respect for that person would have to be built up again.

  2. If I knew somebody committed a serious crime I wont be able to sit back and be able to treat them the same way. I think it would cause me to not talk to that person anymore. I wouldn't be able to trust them depending how serious the crime was and what that person did If it was something serious I would report them to the police because I would be scared if they found out I knew I would be blamed for knowing about the crime and not going to tell them.

  3. It would depend what the person did. For example if the person killed 20 little kids I would have no respect for them. But if it was something small I probably would have the same respect>

  4. It would depend on the crime they committed. if it were something very serious i would feel really different about them. i might not want to talk to them anymore depending on the severity.

  5. It would have to depend on the crime. If it was a minor crime then I would be forgivable, but if it was a major crime I dont think i would forgive them.

  6. If i knew someone that committed a crime i think it would be hard to think of them as the same because their mentality has changed. They are not the same person that they were before they committed the crime. I wouldn't have the same feelings for them because they are not the same person and it would be hard to trust them. I would lose all respect for them because it would be hard to believe the things they say, over time they would have to regain my respect
